Club life

A look at our schedule best illustrates what we do throughout the year, outside of competitive sports and regular recreational sports. In addition to various club events in the boathouse, there are numerous attractive activities centered around sports, fun, and games.

In spring, the outdoor season begins with the "Paddling" (paddling event)—an old canoeing tradition that is also maintained in our club. We paddle on the Mulde, Saale, and Unstruth rivers, as well as on the Kriebstein and Bleiloch dams. Parents of our younger athletes, as well as friends and relatives of our club members, are cordially invited.

On the last day of April, we drive away the evil spirits of winter by burning the broom.

On "Men's Day," the canoe is sometimes moved a bit on the boat trailer. "Men" also gets thirsty along the way.

Training camps are a great way to promote club cohesion. In beautiful locations like the Pöhl Dam, it's a great place to relax around the campfire after training.

We regularly host tournaments at the Glauchau Reservoir. All club members are involved in the organization, setup, and dismantling, as well as the running of the event.

When everything is ready, the anticipation of an exciting tournament weekend grows.

We travel to numerous tournaments throughout Germany. We start on Friday afternoon and return on Sunday evening. Some tournaments, such as Riesa and Prague, are also popular with the parents of our young athletes.

We also play volleyball – both indoors and on the sand.

In spring or autumn we sometimes saddle up our bikes for a trip into the "blue" together.

October 3rd has been reserved for canoe triathlon for many years.

In running, cycling and paddling, teams of two always compete for the coveted trophies of the pottery town of Waldenburg.

At the end of the year, the active members like to try out completely different disciplines, whether paintball, at the leisure pool, or, as here, in the climbing hall.
