Canoe polo - Tournaments

Unfortunately, canoe polo isn't yet an Olympic sport, but it is already a program sport at the World Games. These are held every four years, exactly one year after the Olympics, for sports that aren't part of the Olympic program but still enjoy widespread popularity worldwide. Since 1993, world and continental championships have been held every two years, alternating regularly. The German national teams can look back on numerous successes at the championships.
Glauchau athletes, however, have not been internationally represented for several years. The women's team is currently establishing itself in the 2nd division, and the KSV men's team can already look back on three years in the 1st Bundesliga. Across Germany, Glauchau athletes compete in 10 to 15 tournaments of various kinds each year. This ranges from smaller mixed tournaments in Riesa, Leipzig, and Jena to Bundesliga match days and participation in the promotion play-offs for the German Championships in Berlin, Essen, or Duisburg.
For Glauchau's juniors, the highlight of the season is usually the East German Championships. Against extremely strong competition from Berlin, the goal is to qualify for the German Championships. Naturally, the school and youth teams prepare for the qualifications in various tournaments, for example, in Riesa, Göttingen, and Prague.
