U 14 (Schüler A - 13 bis 14 Jahre), U 12 (Schüler B – 10 bis 12 Jahre, U 10 (Schüler C- 7 bis 9 Jahre)
The best age to start canoe polo is between 8 and 12 years old. A minimum of one year of regular training is required to master the basic techniques. Participation in championships is permitted from the age of 10. Of course, talented newcomers can also successfully integrate into a team after the age of 12.
Are you the right age, not afraid of water, can you swim, and enjoy sports and games? Then get in touch with us! We'd be happy to arrange a trial session.
U 16 (Jugend 15 und 16 Jahre)

Girls and boys can play together on a team up to the youth and school age groups. Up to two players from the lower age group may be used in the next higher age group.
The successes in the youth age group date back a long time. In 1993, KSV Glauchau finished third at the German Championships in Essen.
U 21 (Juniorinnen / Junioren 17 bis 21 Jahre)

Starting at this age group, gender segregation occurs. The only factor determining transfer to a different age group is the year of birth. Therefore, anyone who turns 17 on December 31st already plays in the juniors for the entire year.
In 1995, the junior team of KSV Glauchau achieved its greatest sporting success in canoe polo. The Glauchau junior team became German champions in Berlin-Grünau.
Damen (ab 19 Jahre)

Unfortunately, women are not yet as represented in canoe polo, at least quantitatively. For this reason, junior women are allowed to participate without restrictions, and a maximum of two female youth players are allowed to participate in the women's division.
In 1997, our women's team became German runner-up at the German Championships hosted by our club at the Oberwald Reservoir. Two athletes from our club even achieved international success as members of the women's and U21 national teams, respectively. In the 2015 season, our women's team played in the 1st Bundesliga.
Herren (ab 19 Jahre)

Those who have made it to the men's age group can usually look back on several years of hard training. Depending on their level of performance, players are placed in individual leagues.
The KSV Glauchau men's team fought for years for promotion to the second division (League 2). In 2013, after successfully joining forces with SC Riesa, they finally achieved this step, and the following year even advanced to the 1st Bundesliga. Since then, the first men's team has alternated between the 1st and 2nd divisions and, as of 2021, can look back on three years in the 1st Bundesliga. The stated goal is to consistently develop the U21 players to Bundesliga level and firmly establish the club in the 1st division.
